Messi and his national team Argentina can appeal against the ban by CONMEBOL. If the ban stays, then Lionel Messi will miss three friendlies for Argentina.
In July 2019, Messi avoided medal ceremony at Copa America. Lionel Messi fined $50,000 for his comments after the game between Argentina and Chile for the third-place playoff of the tournament, said CONMEBOL on Friday.
In September and October, Messi will not play for his national team Argentina in the matches against Chile, Mexico, and Germany.
Messi avoided the medal ceremony in protest and later said Argentina “shouldn’t take part in this corruption.”The Argentinian also said the tournament was set for hosts Brazil to win.
Few days ago, Lionel Messi suspended from the 1st match of the South American World Cup qualifiers in March 2020 because of the red card that he got in the match against Chile. This is the second time in Messi’s career when he got a red card.
