FC Internazionale Milan has confirmed the arrival of defender Diego Godin on a free transfer after his contract at Atletico Madrid expired.
Uruguayan defender, Diego Godin will sign a two-year deal, with the option of a third year with Inter Milan.
Godin announced in May he would be leaving Atletico Madrid after nine seasons with the La Liga giants.
While Godin’s move to Inter was long expected it was only made official on Monday morning, following Uruguay’s exit from the Copa America 2019.
“FC Internazionale Milano announces that a contract has been agreed with Diego Godin that will run until 30 June 2022,” a statement on Inter’s official website

Rated as one of the very best defenders in the world, Godin has won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and two Europa Leagues in his career, as well as reaching the Champions League final twice.
Godin joins an Inter side, looking to rebuild under Antonio Conte, having finished fourth in Serie A last season but 21 points behind champions Juventus.
