Brian Lara admitted in a Mumbai hospital due to discomfort in chest
Former West Indian cricketer Brian Lara has been admitted to the Global Hospital in Parel, Mumbai on Tuesday.
Lara, who has been seen as a pundit on Star Sports Network in the ongoing World Cup 2019, had complained of chest pain.
The hospital authorities have refused to divulge any information.
Lara suffers health scare in Mumbai
According to reports, Lara was brought to the hospital at around 12.30 PM IST on Tuesday. Medical investigations were started immediately. The report added that Lara was at an event in a nearby hotel when he complained of discomfort in his chest.
Lara is one of the GOATs
Lara, who turned 50 on May 2, 2019, went on to play 131 Tests and 299 ODIs for West Indies from 1990 to 2007.
- In 131 Tests, the southpaw scored 11,953 runs including 34 centuries and 48 fifties.
- In 299 ODIs, Lara amassed 1,0405 runs including 19 centuries and 63 fifties.
Brian Lara dominated the game alongside Sachin Tendulkar and was respected all around.
The hospital to issue a statement
Lara has been seen as a pundit on Star Sports alongside the likes of VVS Laxman, Gautam Gambhir and Kevin Pietersen.
The World Cup 2019 is being held in England and Wales with the finale to be played on July 14 at Lord’s.
