After a good World Cup in England, team India’s next tour is in West Indies. In this tour, India has to play 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 2 Test matches from August 3 to August 30.
Chief – selector MSK Prasad led the selection panel of the BCCI on Sunday announced three squads for (T20Is, ODIs and Tests) for the upcoming tour of West Indies. Virat Kohli is the captain of all the three squads for this tour.
No Bumrah in T20Is and ODIs
Currently, the world no. 1 in ODIs (Jasprit Bumrah) is not selected in ODI and T20 team for Windies tour. From last three years, Bumrah continuously playing cricket for India. Selectors gave him some rest for this series, so that he will come fresh for the test series and also for the home series against South Africa which is starting from September 15.

Vision 2020
ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled in October 2020. Selectors made T20 squad for this Windies tour by considering the T20 World Cup 2020. Selectors include new faces in the T20 squad. In T20 squad, uncapped players like – Rahul Chahar and Navdeep Saini selected for this tour. India’s two wrist spinners Kuldeep and Chahal are not selected in T20 squad. Some young players like – Deepak Chahar, Washington Sundar also selected in T20 squad.
Number 4
From last four years, team India finding their number 4 in ODIs. India tried almost 10-12 players in this position from World Cup 2015. India needs a solid number 4 player in ODIs who can rotate strike easily and build innings. Many former cricketers said that unsettled number 4 is the major reason for India’s loss in World Cup 2019. Selectors again start finding number 4 for ODIs. They dropped Dinesh Karthik and selected Shreyas Iyer and Manish Pandey in ODI squad.

Settled Test Squad
The inaugural season of ICC World Test Championship is started from August 1 with “The Ashes”. India’s World Test Championship campaign is start with Windies tour. India has to play 2 test matches with West Indies. Wriddhiman Saha back into the test squad after a gap of more than a year. Hardik Pandya is not included in the test squad. Rohit Sharma included in the Test squad.
