New Zealand send India to their biggest T20I defeat
India slumped to their worst ever defeat in T20I to trail New Zealand 1-0. Batting first, Tim Seifert delivered figures of 84 off 43 balls to help his side post 219 for six. With Rohit Sharma (1) and Shikhar Dhawan (29) departing within the Powerplay overs, the chase became a difficult one and India were all out for 139 in 19.2 overs.

India lost the first T20I by 80 runs. Out to chase 220, India received an early blow with skipper Rohit Sharma getting dismissed for 1. Shikhar Dhawan has cleaned up Lockie Ferguson later. Rishabh Pant also failed to impress with the bat. Vijay Shankar played a good cameo but lost his concentration and gave away his wicket.
Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya too failed to get runs under the belt. MS Dhoni and Krunal Pandya added 52 runs together before both were dismissed. India was bowled out for 139.
