IPL 2019 – SRH beat RR by 5 wickets
What an insane game of cricket happened just last night. A sensational power hitting from both the teams on the ground. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) registered their first win of the season against Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 5 wickets.
Winning the toss at Rajiv Gandhi stadium, visitors decided to bat first.
RR Playing XI – A Rahane(c), J Buttler (wk), S Smith, S Samson, B Stokes, R Tripathi, K Gowtham, S Gopal, J Archer, J Unadkat, D Kulkarni.
Heading towards the field to set the target, RR opener Jos Buttler departed cheaply for 5 runs by Rashid Khan. His wicket didn’t affect much as another opener, Ajinkya Rahane was joined by Sanju Samson to rock the ground. Rahane and Samson together added 119 runs on the board with both adding one more half-century in their records. RR skipper was stopped by Shahbaz Nadeem in 16th over. It was too late to dismiss the skipper as he already had scored a frizzing 70 runs off 49 balls.
Sanju Samson was then joined by Ben Stokes. The Duo together scored 64 runs. Sanju Samson played an innings to be remembered. He smashed 102 runs off almost half the balls with 10 boundaries and 4 big shots. Samson remained unbeaten till the end and drive RR to a scintillating total of 198 runs.

SRH openers, David Warner and Jonny Bairstow came to the arena with high spirits. The batsmen together formed a partnership of 110 runs. Warner added another half-century to his record and made 37 ball 69. Warner was dismissed in 10th over by Stokes. Soon after Warner’s wicket, Bairstow too left the field in 11th over.
Kane Williamson and Vijay Shankar took the responsibility by adding quick runs on the board until both were sent back to pavilion in one over after the other. In the end, with not much pressure of the run rate, Yusuf Pathan and Rashid Khan completed the chase for SRH with one over left.
Rashid Khan was announced as the Man of the Match but the Match will be remembered for Sanju Samson’s Classic hundred and heroic performances by David Warner and Bairstow.
