IPL 2019: RR defeated SRH by 7 wickets
It was not the best of starts for Rajasthan Royals while giving the opportunity to bat first to the orange army, SRH. However, RR quickly got their act together and held some stunning catches restricting SRH to 160/8.
Winning the toss, RR decided to field first.
SRH Playing XI – D Warner, K Williamson (c), M Pandey, V Shankar, S Al Hasan, W Saha (wk), D Hooda, R Khan, B Kumar, K Ahmed, S Kaul.
Well there we have it, the men in pink have clinched an important victory as they try to make up ground on the sides occupying the playoff spots. Manish Pandey hit a bludgeoning 61 and was well supported by David Warner’s 37 but 161 always looked reachable after Rahane and Livingstone got the home side off to a flyer scoring 39 and 44 respectively.
RR Playing XI – A Rahane, S Samson (wk), S Smith (c), L Livingstone, A Turner, R Parag, S Binny, S Gopal, J Unadkat, V Aaron, O Thomas.
Rashid and Khaleel Ahmed bowled well for the Sunrisers but the Royals made it home with a modicum of ease. A special mention must go to Jaydev Unadkat who took three good catches and ended with figures of 2/26.
