India won the first Test match by an innings and 130 runs in Indore and took a lead of 1-0 in the series. After the first Test match, everyone is very excited to see India’s first Day-Night Test match.
The 2nd Test match is going to be very different and challenging for all the players. The players of both teams (India and Bangladesh) have no idea about the Day-Night Test cricket. It is not going to be easy for the players of both teams.
Previous Records of Day-Night Test matches
Till date, a total 11 Day-Night Test matches have been played. Australia has played the most (5) Day-Night Test matches. In Day-Night Test cricket, the team who batted first has won 6 times while team bowled first has won 5 times. Australia has won 3 Day-Night Test matches while bowling first.
What are the Challenges?
#1. Green Wicket
In the previous Day-Night Test matches, most of the wickets were Green-top. For the Day-Night Test match, most of the curators try to make green wicket so that bowl can last to 80 overs. If; wicket is rough or flat then it will be difficult to last the bowl to 80 overs. Most probably the wicket in Eden Gardens will be Green-top. If; the wicket is green then it will bring different challenges for the batsmen.

#2. Two Coatings on the ball
The 2nd Test match between India and Bangladesh is going to play with the SG ball of pink colour. Usually, in the SG ball of red colour, there is only one coating of colour on the ball. But; in the pink ball, there is one extra coating so that the ball doesn’t get rough easily. The pink ball shined more as compared to the red ball because of two coatings. This ball will be more helpful for fast bowlers because of extra shine.
#3. Black Seam, Black Screen

The seam of a red ball is made up with a white thread but the seam of a pink ball is made up of black thread. The colour of a sightscreen for the Day-Night Test cricket is black. It is going to be very hard for the batsmen to judge the seam of a ball because of the same colour of thread and sightscreen.
#4. The Transition time
The Day-Night Test match between India and Bangladesh is going to start at 1:00 PM (IST). In these days the sunset time in Kolkata is around 4:45 PM (IST). It will be very difficult for the batsmen to bat in this period.
#5. Dew Factor
This is the only factor which is in favour of batsmen. This is the end of November and the Hugli river is also near to the stadium so dew factor becomes very important for this match. It will be very difficult for the bowlers to grip the ball in the final session.

All the fans, players, experts are very excited to see the first Day-Night Test match in India. This Test will bring different challenges for the players, especially for the batsmen. The fast bowlers are going to be very effective in this match. The captains of both the teams will like to bat first if they win the toss.
