Kohli retains number one position in ICC Test ranking
There are no second thoughts about Kohli being one of the best batsmen in the world. Numbers and records just make it more clear and crisp. Once again the Indian skipper batsman retained the number one position in the recent ICC Test batsman rankings. Kohli has recently bagged the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year Award. The skipper has been in a tremendous form in every format. He has scored 922 runs in total in the test format this year.
In such a phenomenal form, it will be easy for Kohli to boost the team ahead of World Cup 2019.
Also, Cheteshwar Pujara has grabbed the number three position in the Test batsman rankings. The top ten of ICC Test bowler rankings consists of only two Indian bowlers – Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin. Jadeja holds the sixth position and the tenth position is in name of Ashwin.
In the Test format, India is the number one team and next at number two is New Zealand. New Zealand is just a little behind India.
The other surprising name in the list is of Rahmat Shah, the Afghanistan batsman who is at 89th position. Fast bowler Yamin Ahmadzai and leg-spinner Rashid Khan have also made speedy progress in the bowler’s rankings. Yamin has reached the 50th position whereas Rashid Khan has been advanced to 67th position.
Many players have come in as a shock in the list but the fact remains that no one is near the best batsman in the world – the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli.
