IPL 2019 Qualifier 1: A little sneak peek before the match between CSK and MI
The only two teams to conquer the IPL title thrice, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians will be contesting in season’s first qualifier tonight at M.A Chidambaram Stadium. It is also home ground to CSK.
The Mumbai Indians (MI) – Chennai Super Kings (CSK) encounters in IPL has been the legendary ones. The two of the most successful teams of the league with three titles each. These two have faced each other three times in finals. In 2010, CSK overpowered MI but in 2013 and 2015 the fortunes favoured MI.
The skipper of both the teams – MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma will be under the spotlight. They are not only known for their leadership qualities but also for their batting skills. Dhoni has been the match finisher for CSK like always and has remained unbeaten in 6 innings out of the 9 games he played. Hitman, on the other hand, has not been in his original play form.
The players have already reached at Chennai to take some rest before the game and boost up the energy before the important game. Mumbai Indians Coach Mahela Jayawardene too has reached the venue.
