IPL 2019: KKR won by 8 wickets against RR
When you are playing against Kolkata Knight Riders you need to score double. One for the team and one for Andre Russell. Rajasthan Royals had a tough time at their home ground, Sawai Mansingh Stadium against KKR. Few hours before the match, Jaipur was hit by a sand storm. The crowd would have expected a storm of cricket by Andre Russell but the night belonged to Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine.
Winning the toss KKR put RR to bat first
RR Playing XI – A Rahane (c), J Buttler (wk), S Smith, R Tripathi, B Stokes, P Chopra, K Gowtham, J Archer, S Gopal, S Midhun, D Kulkarni.
Royals were not able to read the pitch right. Batsmen struggled too much to score. Even with 7 wickets in hand till the end, Royals could put up only 139 on board. Ajinkya Rahane departed early in the first ball of the second over. Ben Stokes and Steve Smith added some runs at snail pace. Smith though remained unbeaten till the end but could help much. Smith scored 73 off 59 balls.
It was an effortless task for KKR to chase 139 with Russell Muscle and other explosive batsmen like Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa and Narine.
KKR Playing XI – C Lynn, S Narine, R Uthappa, N Rana, D Karthik (c & wk), S Gill, A Russell, P Chawla, K Yadav, H Gurney, M Prasidh Krishna.
KKR didn’t have much work to do and completed the chase in 13.5 overs. Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine added 91 runs together for the first wicket making the win more remarkable.
