In ODI squad, there are some players who were not the part of 2019 World Cup squad. In ODI squad, there is no Bumrah and Dhoni. Hardik Pandya is also not the part of ODI squad. India includes new players in the ODI squad like – Navdeep Saini, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey.
In ODI cricket, from last two or three years, the middle order is the only weak link in the Indian team. Many people believed that unsettled middle order is the major reason for India’s loss in the World Cup 2019.
India includes Manish Pandey and Shreyas Iyer as a middle-order batsman in their squad. This is not the first time when India include Manish Pandey and Shreyas Iyer in the ODI squad. Before the World Cup 2019, India tried both Pandey and Iyer in the middle order but they failed to get the place in World Cup squad.
For West Indies, Chris Gayle who was not the part of T20 series, back into the West Indies team for the ODI series. Many cricket fans expecting that this will be Gayle’s final ODI series.
West Indies lost the T20 series by 3-0. Now it is very important for West Indies to win the 1st ODI so that they will get some confidence. The biggest challenge for captain Jason Holder is to refocus his team’s aim.
