Ro’HITMAN’ Sharma just 46 runs less from entering the prestigious elite
The Last ODI between India and Australia in a 5 match series is going to take place today. Though India lost the previous ODI, it gave hope to all cricket fans as Indian openers were back in form after a long wait. This indeed is wonderful news especially when we have World Cup T20 in less than 2 months. Rohit impressed everyone with his bat, smashing 95 off 92 in the 4th ODI against the Kangaroos. Also, Shikhar Dhawan accomplished his career-best 143.
Rohit Sharma also known as ‘Hitman’ is just 46 runs away from entering the elite club of 8000 runs. Sharma has a great chance to get the breakthrough in the fifth ODI against Australia.
The first and second position in the elite club is already in the bags of Indian skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers respectively. The Indian skipper reached the milestone in his 175th inning and Villiers took 182 innings to achieve the same.
The Hitman has an opportunity to share the renowned list along with Sourav Ganguly at the third position. Ganguly accomplished the milestone in his 200th inning. The fifth ODI against Australia will be Sharma’s 200th inning. Rohit has smashed 7954 runs in 199 innings so far. The cricketer also has the fortune to outshine the legends like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and many more big names.
Sharma who seems to have lost his form in the last few matches was not able to upstage in the first three ODI against the ‘Kangaroos’. Finally, Hitman managed to pull off in the fourth ODI with a brilliant knock of 95 off 92 balls including seven 4s and two 6s.
Rohit Sharma entering the elite club will be a treat for all the Indian fans. With the ‘Hitman’ back in form, fans are looking forward to the fifth ODI to be played at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium today. Let’s see if the ‘Hitman’ himself can lead India to victory in the decider match ahead and achieve the milestone.
