IPL 2019: DC beat RCB by 16 runs
Delhi Capitals had made 187/5 with half-centuries from Shikhar Dhawan and skipper Shreyas Iyer and then restricted RCB to 171/7. The 16 run win gave Delhi 16 points, assuring them their first playoff berth since 2012.
Winning the toss, DC decided to bat at their home ground.

The Indian opener, Dhawan continued his good run and scored a 36 ball fifty adding 68 runs for the second wicket with Shreyas. The subtle start helped DC reach 81 in nine overs but the innings frizzled with the departure of Dhawan and Iyer. Iyer too scored a half century for the team.
Rishabh Pant and Colin Ingram both the batsmen have proved to be beneficial for the team at different opportunities were dismissed cheaply. Axar Patel and Sherfane Rutherford collected runs for the team in death overs by forming a much-needed partnership of 46 runs. The last two overs leaked 36 runs which led DC to a total of 187.

RCB raced to 45/0 in four overs. Parthiv Patel had set the tone scoring 31 of the first 35 runs RCB got in the first three overs. But the batsmen got carried away by the ease with which runs came. Kagiso Rabada, as usual, got the wicket for the team of Patel when required. Kohli holed out to deep midwicket just after the powerplay phase.
One by one the batsmen were coming and becoming prey to Delhi’s bowling attack has been famous for Rabada’s yorker this season and with likes of Rutherford, Amit Mishra, Patel and Ishant Sharma, they have literally made every team struggle for runs.
Marcus Stoinis played a knock very late for the side and RCB fell 16 runs short from the target.
