Australia beat Bangladesh in match number 26 of the ICC World Cup 2019 at Trent Bridge on Thursday. This was Australia’s fifth win of the ongoing 2019 World Cup.
Batting first, Australia rode on a superb 166 from David Warner to post 381/5. Bangladesh lost by 48 runs.
How did the match pan out?
On a solid batting track, Australia set the platform for a massive score with two hundred-plus stands for the first and second wicket.
Warner was the architect behind their massive total. The likes of Finch, Khawaja and Glenn Maxwell chipped in as well.
In reply, Bangladesh showed their spirit and batted beautifully. But a target of 382 was always going to be difficult.

Warner has amassed two tons in the ongoing tourney and it’s his best tally in Cricket World Cup.

The southpaw now has two 150-plus scores in the World Cup.
Interestingly, both these scores are the highest by an Australian batsman in World Cup cricket. Warner had scored 178 versus Afghanistan in 2015 World Cup. Against Bangladesh on Thursday, he hit a brisk 166.
Notable batting feats achieved in this match
Usman Khawaja (89) smashed his seventh ODI fifty this year. This was his 11th career ODI fifty and a first in CWC 19.

Bangladesh’s Tamim Iqbal (62) slammed his 47th career ODI fifty.
Mahmudullah (69) amassed his second World Cup fifty. This was his 21st career ODI fifty.
Mushfiqur Rahim hit his highest score in the World Cup. He smashed his seventh career ODI hundred.
