On day-3 of the 1st Test match at Edgbaston, England scored 374 runs in their 1st inning of the match and Australia put 124 runs on the board by losing 3 wickets.
Rory Burns scored highest 133 runs for England in their 1st inning.
At the end of day-2, England was in a good position. On day-3, England loose 4 wickets before lunch. After losing 4 wickets on day-3, Chris Woakes and tailender Stuart Broad batted really well. Broad and Woakes put a crucial partnership of 65 runs which helped England to take the lead of 90 runs over Australia in their first inning.

After scoring 374 runs, England took two quick wickets of Australia. Australia lost their openers (David Warner and Cameron Bancroft) very early. After losing two wickets, Usman Khawaja builds a partnership of 48 with Steven Smith but got out on 40 runs.
After Khawaja’s wicket Travis Head build a partnership of 49 runs with Smith and they are still on the crease. At the end of day-3, Steven Smith is on 46 runs. At the end of day-3, Australia lead by 34 runs.
On day-4, Australia needs a big century from Steven Smith so that they can put a good target on the board for England. England needs Smith’s wicket before lunch tomorrow.
