Cricket World Cup 2019: BCCI announces 15 member squad of India
Picking up specialists with a captain like Virat Kohli would have been a tough job for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Many speculations and controversies arose before the selection of the 15 member squad for the Cricket World Cup 2019. Finally, on Monday, 15th April BCCI declared 15 names selected to tour England for CWC 2019.
Going by the primary role of players, the 15 member India squad has five bowlers – Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Kuldeep Yadav, four all-rounders – Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Vijay Shankar and Ravindra Jadeja, two wicketkeepers – MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik and only four specialist batsmen – Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul.

This squad has possibly the best opening batsmen, the best batsmen of this generation, a legendary wicketkeeper and tactical as well as a balanced bowling attack. The only area where there is some sort of lacking is a middle-order batsman. A player who is a finisher who takes minimum time to shift gears.
Rishabh Pant’s exuberance was sacrificed on the altar of Dinesh Karthik’s experience as wicketkeeper. Though Kohli will have the last say on this, chief selector MSK Prasad said Karthik will not play when Dhoni is in the team. Coming back to the middle order it still looks cohesive.
With a mix and match of a different set of players, India is hoping to conquer the Cricket World Cup 2019.
