CM Arvind Kejriwal meets and receives blessings from pilgrims who visited Puri as part of ‘Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra’ Scheme, pilgrims blessed and named him Delhi’s ‘Shravan Kumar’.

Pilgrims, all senior citizens, beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Scheme were all praises for the services offered during their recent pilgrimage to Puri.
In a recent ‘surprise’ interaction with CM Arvind Kejriwal, pilgrims who were back from their recent pilgrimage to Puri, organized as part of Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra scheme, made no effort to hide their joy and satisfaction.

All the pilgrims had been invited for an interaction over tea at a party office and were busy singing devotional songs and CM Arvind Kejriwal arrived unannounced much to their utter surprise. He interacted with them and sought their feedback.
Delighted by this chance meeting, all the pilgrims, the senior citizens, elders of Delhi, showered their blessing on CM for doing what even their children couldn’t do for them. On 13th January CM Arvind Kejriwal shared a video of this blissful interaction on his Twitter handle.

Puri done, next stop Rameshwaram!
Many elders acknowledged that even if they spent their own money, they couldn’t have bought the services offered during this pilgrimage to Puri. Happy and content with their visit, they blessed CM Arvind Kejriwal for fulfilling his duties as their ‘son’. They also demanded, as would from their ‘son’, that the next visit be organized to Rameshwaram. CM Kejriwal dutifully accepted.
Delhi’s own ‘Shravan Kumar’!
The elderly pilgrims were not just appreciative of the opportunity to visit Puri. But also acknowledged the good work done by Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi, lovingly naming him as today’s ‘Shravan Kumar’. They applauded how Delhi Government is putting people first, something they haven’t seen other government’s do in all these years. ‘Our blessings for Kejriwal are as large as a tide in the ocean’, one woman said. Many elders blessed CM Arvind Kejriwal to keep coming back into power in Delhi and continue the good work.

The Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Scheme is gaining popularity among elders
The scheme launched in December 2018, with 5 routes, is receiving a lot of interest from senior citizens. It has, over the months, included several more routes as well.

The scheme has no income criterion and any citizen of Delhi above 60 is eligible to apply. Delhi government pays for travel by 3 tier AC Train, pay for all meals, accommodation. It also provides guides and medical insurance. So far around 35,000 pilgrims have benefited from this scheme.
