BJP leader Sanjay Paswan has claimed that MS Dhoni may join BJP after retirement and contest upcoming elections.
We may see Indian cricket team’s Captain Cool MS Dhoni in saffron colour after retiring from international cricket. BJP leader and former Union Minister Sanjay Paswan has said that Dhoni may join politics after his retirement.
In his conversation with IANS, Paswan said: “On this issue, there has been a discussion for long, although this decision will be taken only after MS Dhoni’s retirement.”
The polls in Dhoni’s home state Jharkhand will be held later this year. There are speculations that BJP may make Dhoni their Chief Minister candidate for the Jharkhand state assembly election. Interestingly, Amit Shah paid a visit to veteran wicket-keeper batsman last year during his ‘Sampark for Samarthan’ campaign for Lok Sabha elections.
The former skipper will not be the only 2011 world cup hero to join BJP, Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir is also a member of BJP, representing the party in Parliament from East Delhi constituency.
