Citing health issues, outgoing Finance Minister Arun Jaitley writes letter to PM Modi requesting him to not to give any ministry in the 2nd term of his government.
The 66-year-old BJP leader said that “staying away from any responsibility will help him concentrate on his treatment and health”. He was also not seen at the victory celebrations at the BJP headquarters after the massive win. Because of his bad health he was absent from Friday’s Union Cabinet meeting and said would undertake any work informally to support the government or the party.
- In 2017, Jaitley, underwent a kidney transplant surgery and has been unwell for a large part of the last two years.
- In the letter, he mentioned about his oral intimidation to PM about needing to stay away from any responsibility for some time in the future.
- Though not seen much in public since a long time former FM recently took a meeting of top Finance Ministry officials at his residence.
- He expressed the gratitude for Modi in return for making him a part of government led by him.(ANI)
