After glorious victories in three state elections, Congress would now have its vision firmly set on Elections 2019. In that case, it is very important for the new state governments to send the right signals. In that spirit, new Madhya Pradesh CM showed unusual efficiency in approving the proposal for farm loan waivers of upto Rs 2 lakh, which was a key electoral promise made by Congress President Rahul Gandhi in his public rally at Pipliya Mandi in Mandsaur district. He had promised that the waiver will happen within 10 days of the Congress coming to power.
The approval was granted within two hours after Kamal Nath took oath. With his approval, Rajesh Rajora, Principal Secretary, Farmers’ Welfare and Agriculture Development Department, issued the relevant order that stated, “Madhya Pradesh Government has taken a decision to write off short-term crop loan of eligible farmers up to the limit of Rs 2 lakh, as on March 31, 2018, from nationalised and cooperative banks.”
CM, Madhya Pradesh, waives farm loans.
2 to go.
