BJP stalwart and ex Cabinet Minister Sushma Swaraj passed away after suffering a heart attack.
The former Minister for External Affairs in Modi 1.0, Sushma Swaraj breathed her last at the AIIMS, Delhi on Tuesday 6th December 2019. Swaraj’s last public correspondence before her death was a tweet thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She was waiting to see this day in her lifetime.

Swaraj has had a distinguished career in politics spanning over 4 decades. She is a former Supreme Court lawyer. She was the second woman to hold the office of Minister of External Affairs of India, after Indira Gandhi.

She was also the youngest cabinet minister of Indian state of Haryana in 1977 at the age of 25. Swaraj was also the 5th Chief Minister of Delhi. Swaraj was called India’s ‘best-loved politician’ by the US daily Wall Street Journal.
