Delhi Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh exposed a huge scam committed by DDA with the knowledge of the Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and the central government. Flats were to be handed over in 2014, but 772 people are still wandering.

“In 2014, DDA rolled out a flat scheme for the EWS category and promised that flats will be given at the cost of Rs 6.90 lakhs. 772 people were to be given flats under this scheme. But, with the consent of the BJP led central government, DDA secretly increased the flat rate to Rs 19 – 24 Lakhs.
This plan was known to the Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Puri and even the Prime Minister”, said Shri Sanjay Singh. He has also written a letter demanding a CBI inquiry into the matter.

Despite the flats being ready, DDA intentionally delayed the allocation – Sanjay Singh
Citing a letter issued by the DDA, Sanjay Singh said that in September 2014, a scheme was launched by the DDA. The scheme stated that all those whose annual income would be less than ₹1,00,000 would fall under the EWS category and such people would get flats built in partnership with DLF and DDA from ₹ 6,90,000 – 11,00,000 on easy installments.
Increased rate in connivance with DLF; letter written for CBI investigation of the sacm – Sanjay Singh
It was clearly written in that leaflet that the flats were ready. Even if the allocation of flats took some time, then there would not have been any increase in the price of the flats.
He said that despite the flats being ready, the DDA intentionally delayed the allocation, kept asking for different types of documents from the applicants. Still those who submitted the required documents in 2015 have not been given the flats.

DDA promised to give flats to the poor in the EWS category for Rs.6.90 L, but secretly increased the rate by more than three times – Sanjay Singh
He told that when people protested against this scam, staged a sit-in at the Lt. Governor’s residence, and wrote a letter to the Prime Minister and Union Minister Hardeep Puri, then DDA under pressure reduced the amount from Rs. 19 lakh to Rs.15 lakh.
“The BJP led central government has made DDA a center of brokerage. According to their choice they are charging prices of houses from the poor like ₹6,90,000, ₹19,00,000, ₹ 15,00,000 etc” said Shri Sanjay Singh.

Sanjay Singh asked the following questions to the BJP led union government and DDA
- When the flats were built and ready to be handed over the price was Rs. 690000, on what basis it was increased to 1900000?
- Even after people staged a sit-in, wrote a letters to the Prime Minister, and the Union Minister Hardeep Puri, Why they were not given flats as per the price fixed?
- DDA controlled by BJP has committed a serious scam with 772 EWS quota applicants. Describing the points written in the advertisement issued by the DDA, he said that on one hand the DDA says that the income of the applicant should be less than ₹ 100000 annually and on the other hand the provision of monthly installment of DDA ₹ 10666. The annual installment of 10666 is above 1,20,000 annually. So how will someone whose income is less than ₹ 1,00,000 annually will pay more than ₹ 1,20,000 in monthly installments in a year?
- What is the deal has taken place with BJP and DLF? Who are the leaders and officials involved in this deal as brokers? BJP and DDA must answer.
“To investigate this big scam, I have also written a letter to the CBI and the CVC, demanding a point-by-point investigation of the entire case. If the culprits are not properly identified and punished, then we will go to the court, and do everything possible to expose the fraud committed on the people belonging to EWS category”, Sanjay Singh added.
The entire scam happened with knowledge of Union Urban Development Minister HardeepPuri – Sanjay Singh
He said that it seems ridiculous, when only 772 people applied for the scheme, but still the BJP controlled DDA couldn’t allocate houses. “It should have been allotted in 2014. More than three times of the price fixed then was asked later”, said Sanjay Singh. “We will regularize unauthorized colonies and give a permanent registry of houses to people living in unauthorized colonies”, he added.
