14 lakh or roughly 30 percent of Delhi Households availed Free Electricity in September 2019 through AAP’s recent initiative.
The #BillDekhaKya had twitter in frenzy a while back when Delhi’s residents saw the Rs. 0 bills. Now, the stats are out and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP’s smart governance has proof. AAP’s initiative provides free electricity of up to 200 units for domestic consumers and also tenants in Delhi. Consequently, 14 lakh families which consumed less than 200 units of electricity and received an electricity bill with zero dues.
CM Kejriwal claimed the free-electricity scheme is an example of “smart governance”. The scheme encourages Delhiites to curb their power needs and be more energy sustainable and less wasteful.
As per CM Kejriwal, “Free-electricity scheme in Delhi will be an example of smart governance where every family is trying to consume less than 200 units. As a result, 14 lakh families have already received zero amount bills. Thus, now that Delhi’s people getting benefits of free electricity, they will also start saving.
14 lakh out of the total 48 lakh domestic consumers of electricity in Delhi also means approximately 30% of Delhi’s households availed free electricity under the scheme.
