Several injured after protestors clashed with police in Santiago
Several were reported injured after a clash between protesters and police erupted during an assembly in the Chilean capital on Monday.
The Police used tear gas and water cannons against the group which includes more than 100 Chilean organizations that have challenged government strategies.
Two police officials were reported to have received serious burns after the protestors threw Molotov cocktails at them.
Protests began in October after the government declared a hike in subway fares.
They have already led to government reshuffle which includes the replacement of interior and finance ministers.
However, the protest has now grown much bigger. The leaderless national movement is now urging for broader demands over education, health services, and economic inequality.
