Although women are coming out to work in increasing numbers across the world, in 2020 they formed only about 38.7% of the workforce globally, lower than that recorded in the early 2000s. In 2020, women did contribute a record number of CEOs to the global fortune 500 list, but that number was as low as 13, constituting only 2.6% of these businesses in terms of revenue. Moreover, not one woman of colour qualified to be on the list.
