Nike has designed a shoe – Air Zoom Pulse – especially for people who have to work long hours and are supposed to walk or stand for long hours.
The American multinational shoemaker Nike has designed a new model of shoes especially for the purpose of improving your Mental Health. Nike initially designed ‘Air Zoom Pulse’ specifically for doctors, nurses and other health care professionals.
Nike ‘Air Zoom Pulse’ is resistant, comfortable and flexible. It comes with spill protection and a grippy sole.
The product testing for the model was done with the help of nurses, doctors and other workers at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon. The place was decided in order to determine what demands must the product fulfill.
In a statement, Nike said, “During the product testing sessions the designers of the Air Zoom Pulse understood the rigors of these health-care workers’ and their day-to-day efforts”.
Nike further said, “For nurses, their jobs include walking for around four to five miles and they are only able to sit for less than an hour during a 12-hour shift. Their work is mentally and physically exhausting. Hence, the design for the Air Zoom Pulse tackles those challenges with simplicity in mind”.
The shoe is easy to get on and off, and very easy to clean. The fit, cushioning and traction systems are designed to work together to protect the user in all conditions.
Some other notable features are the much fascinated laceless upper with an easy clean vamp. The shoe has an elastic strap that keeps the heel securely contained and enables an easy slip-on.
The shoe also boasts a durable rubber sole with a traction pattern designed that can maintain a firm grip even on the wet surfaces.
Nike will release 6 different designs of ‘Air Zoom Pulse’ on 7 December on its website. However, all the profits from the sale of the underlying model will go towards the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and the Doernbecher Freestyle Program, which is now in its 16th year.
