Fallout ended with a chopper having ripped apart August Walker’s face. But with McQuarrie signalling a return for Henry Cavill to MI 7, maybe we have a plastic surgery on the cards for August Walker.
Christopher McQuarrie’s Fallout was the most successful film of the Mission: Impossible franchise. After critical acclaim with Rogue Nation and global success with Fallout, McQuarrie signed on for Mission: Impossible 7 and 8.
Heads Up! Henry Cavill returns to MI 7 – The Possibilities
- Director Christopher McQuarrie’s recent comments
- Henry Cavill aka August Walker’s fate in Mission: Impossible – Fallout
- How Henry Cavill may feature in MI 7 and MI 8?
- Cavill as the main antagonist opposite Tom Cruise in 2021 and 2022
Since early January 2019, he has been roping in characters from all the earlier franchise films. In turn, MI 7 and 8 have raised incredible expectations.
In fact, one of the most shocking developments related to the next two sequels is Henry Cavill and Alec Baldwin joining the cast. Characters of both died in Fallout so them being a part is eerie and downright ridiculous.
Cavill Back from the Dead – Possible?
Some reports suggest both Baldwin and Cavill featuring in flashback scenes, which seems logical. However, McQuarrie’s recent comments have toppled that idea and sent the rumour mill and plot theory concocters into hysteria.
In 2019, the director said “I could do a lot of things. I could eat pizza until I explode. It doesn’t mean I’ll actually do it. I’ll choose a course and go where Mission takes me. That’s the only plan there’s ever been. #MissionImpossible”
Now this means that virtually anything can happen as the story takes its course. The rogue CIA assassin played by Cavill could be resurrected from the dead, or maybe the man with a chopper ripping off his face wasn’t August Walker at all.
Maybe Mission: Impossible 7 begins with Henry Cavill and understands how it was his body double and not him that Cruise’s Ethan Hunt fought off.
Plastic Surgery then?
So, plastic surgery may look like a plotline from the 80s and 90s but it is the most thriving business today in Hollywood. Today, plastic surgeons earn more than neuro or cardio surgeons.
The art hasn’t died away from popular culture. Instead it has evolved and also relinquished much of the taboo surrounding it. Furthermore, with Quarrie’s cryptic reply, we cannot rule out the possibility that it wasn’t Henry Cavill at all in the last scene.
Another way this could work out is if Cavill’s August Walker isn’t dead and is able to climb up the mountain and find a way out. Plastic surgery falls into the film’s plot in this scenario to remake Cavill’s destroyed face.
If Cavill’s role carries significance…
Agreeably, Henry Cavill was so good playing the antagonist in Fallout that recreation and return would certainly enhance MI 7, albeit August Walker needing a plastic surgery. However, it is yet to be leaked if Cavill is the main antagonist opposite Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt in MI 7 & 8.
Furthermore, with Quarrie’s cryptic reply, we cannot rule out the possibility that it wasn’t Henry Cavill at all in the last scene of Fallout.
Cavill’s Witcher hit Netflix recently and the geek brigade was full of praise for the actor. His stardom right now also makes him an able contender who match up to Tom Cruise opposite him.
Another likely scenario on how Cavill may be used is if he was an android man all along and his robotics equipment can be recast and repaired.
Whatever approach Christopher McQuarrie takes w.r.t Cavill’s role in M:7 and M:8, we shall only know in 2020. Stay Tuned!
