Hands down NBC’s Brooklyn 99 is one of the finest police-procedural comedy series on television right now. But a great show constitutes of a great cast and Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a testament of that.

Now, for most characters, Brooklyn 99 is not their first show. While for others, it is ‘that’ show that pulled them into the limelight. Also, did you know that Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Jake Peralta aka Andy Samberg was a cast member of Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake starrer Friends With Benefits? Yeah, that probably may have gone amiss by viewers stating the fact that Samberg wasn’t all famous in that age.

Here’s each character of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and the roles they have played in their previous shows.
1. Melissa Fumero aka Amy Santiago
Portraying the role of a stiff cop who’s at the same time nerdy, and a Captain Holt-sycophant, Melissa Fumero plays Amy Santiago on Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

However, Melissa Fumero is best known for her cast as Zoe in the hit teen drama series Gossip Girl. She played one of Blair Waldorf’s minion and appeared in five episodes.
2. Stephanie Beatriz aka Rosa Diaz
Essaying the role of a rigid and rugged cop in Brooklyn 99, Stephanie Beatriz as Rosa Diaz is better remembered for her recurring role in ABC’s Modern Family as Sonia.

However, the role that she portrays as a tough cop in Brooklyn Nine-Nine stands in complete contradiction to her role in Modern Family as Sonia, Grace’s sister.

3. Joe Lo Truglio aka Charles Boyle
Did you know the big-hearted, clumsy and goofy Charles Boyle has played a cameo in an American sitcom How I Met Your Mother? Joe Lo Truglio characterized Henry Honeywell, Marshal Erikson’s boss in an episode titled The Stamp Tramp and Twelve Horny women. He is shown as an imperious and canny man in the two-episode of HIMYM.

4. Andre Braugher aka Captain Holt
The stoic and staunch Captain of the Precinct, Captain Holt played by Andre Braugher has also appeared in a Marvel Studios film. Make a guess? Braugher has played General Hager in the 2007 superhero film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. His role as General Hager is not too far from the character he plays in Brooklyn 99.

5. Terry Crews aka Terry Jeffords
Sergeant Terry Jeffords is otherwise a cool man until you want to mess with him. Well, Terry Jeffords portrayed by Terry Crews is best known as the host of America’s Got Talent Season 14. The guy is a powerhouse of talent that has appeared in the Expendables series and Deadpool 2.

6. Doug Judy aka Pontiac Bandit aka Craig Robinson
One of Jake’s most cunning nemesis and notorious con-artist, Doug Judy is played by Craig Robinson. The Canadian comedian, musician and singer is better recalled for his character as a stoner in American comedy-cum-action film Pineapple Express.

Craig Robinson is also known for his role in Hot Tub Time Machine 1 and 2. Doug Judy is a recurring character in Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Jake’s arch-enemy with an immense love for hip hop.
The good news is that all these characters are set to make a comeback on NBC with Brooklyn 99 Season 7. The show premiers on February 6 which will air every Thursday at 9 pm.
