In this edition of DKODING Superheroes, we are taking a look at the marvellous alternate reality that WandaVision brought to us. The mind-bending and heart-wrenching tale of Wanda’s transformation to the Scarlet Witch could not be told any better. Creator Jac Schaeffer, director Matt Shakman along with actor Elizabeth Olsen [Wanda/Scarlet Witch] and Paul Bettany [The Vision] gets the full credit to mislead fans and keeping them on edge at the same time. WandaVision aptly titled ‘The Series Finale’ was full of Easter eggs for the things to come in MCU Phase 4.

The sitcom setting of the series, the chaos, transitions of decades to perfect cameos everything was well planned to keep the audience guessing. WandaVision series finale culminated with a well-meaning warning about ‘disappointment’ by the creators given already. Not all the theories can come true at least not yet. Nonetheless, fans got the glorious moment where Agnes or Agatha Harkness finally, pronounced her the ‘Scarlet Witch’. We saw White Vision and The Vision fight. Evans Peter’s as Pietro Maximoff blew the fan’s mind away while Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau won them over. The twins, Billy and Tommy played by Julian Hilliard and Jett Klyne respectively are worthy Young Avengers. And Kathryn Hahn as Agnes aka Agatha Harkness was truly magical.
WandaVision Taught Us About Grief & Love
Beneath all the sitcom drama and superhero charade WandaVision is really about grief and loss and how we chose to deal with it. In the year that went by we have suffered deep grief, and loss, we’ve felt the fear of isolation and death. WandaVision is about us all in a way that’s why Vision’s line struck a chord with us all.

Under all the Superhero refinery WandaVision maintains the theme of Wanda’s loss and grief. While the finale was underwhelming after the gap of over a year of superhero fatigue for some fans, it was a fitting start to the story of MCU’s Scarlet Witch. Marvel Studios have raised the bar high for what you can do on TV and the effort might prove with Emmy nominations.
