2020 United States Presidential Elections: Bernie Sanders paves the way for Joe Biden to cement his nomination — Trump has his knickers in twist…
The final roadblock to a potentially epic showdown between Joe Biden and Donald Trump in November has taken itself off the grid with Bernie Sanders suspending his campaign. The Democratic Socialist, Bernie Sanders has stepped down as the nominee for the upcoming presidential elections saying “path toward victory is virtually impossible”. Of course, Trump is blinded and unaware of Joe Biden coming at him with full force, now that Bernie Sanders is back in the barn. Jumping out of your knickers with joy, are you Joe Biden?
While Bernie has not been very popular for taking himself out of a presidential race with dignity, it has been speculated that there must be something stronger at play.

What could it be?
Sanders insisted, “As I see the crisis gripping the nation, exacerbated by a president unwilling or unable to provide any kind of credible leadership and the work that needs to be done to protect people in this most desperate hour, I cannot in good conscience continue to mount a campaign that I cannot win and which would interfere with the important work required of all of us in this difficult hour.”
This has paved the way for Joe Biden to be cemented as the nominee for the election even though he lost in the primary elections. His campaign is essentially focused around “a return to normalcy”.
Uncle Joe is back and ready to take a hands-on approach to America’s problems! Joe Biden has a good feel for the American people and can smell what they really want deep down. Joe is ready for a fight and will give a good ol’ fashioned pounding to anybody who gets in his way!
It is the present generation that demands fundamental changes to the system. Social movements have started taking place because there is a lot fundamentally wrong with the present scenario where leaders work to impress corporations and wealthy lobbyists.
With wars, inequality, mass deportations, mass shootings, racism, and police murders of Black Americans so rampant, why would the younger generation want to return to the past?
A return to normalcy will not get him the support, he needs to walk the extra mile
Even though Bernie Sanders has stepped down, to bag the votes of the younger generation and lead Trump, returning to the time before him is not a good enough bet. Furthermore, with the outbreak of the virus, American citizens have witnessed the epic failure in decades of policy making towards their social safety. This calls for a leader who’s capable enough to rectify the damage done and builds a vision for a better future.
Democratic party needs to do something and it needs to do it now.
“It won’t be easy. Nobody’s confused about that. But we are ready for the general election. We are ready for our standard-bearer,” Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez said. “I’m confident because Joe Biden’s values reflect the values of the majority of the American people that we can win.”

While he has an almost daunting task to beat Trump, his challenge at the moment is winning over the far-left supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders now after he has stepped down. These supporters have little faith in Biden’s record on criminal justice, healthcare for all, trade, and foreign policy.

Trump did not miss a chance to conspire as usual
Former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama are yet to endorse Biden’s campaign. Donald Trump held it against the former Vice President during Wednesday’s press briefing at the White House and insisted,
I don’t know why President Obama hasn’t supported Joe Biden a long time ago. There’s something he feels is wrong.President Donald Trump
“He knows something that you don’t know, that I think I know. But you don’t know,” he added. “I’m sure he’s got to come out at some point because he certainly doesn’t want to see me for four more years,” added Trump.
President Trump on @BernieSanders: “He didn’t really drop out. What about his delegates? I mean, he said he’s going to keep his delegates. That’s a weird deal… I don’t know why President Obama hasn’t supported @JoeBiden a long time ago, there’s something he feels is wrong…” pic.twitter.com/uwRcwZY1vV— CSPAN (@cspan) April 8, 2020
While Trump and Biden are practicing social distancing like much of America, only time will tell what will happen.
The co-founder of The Lincoln Project, a collection of former Republicans, said —
As America contends with unprecedented loss, we need a leader who can steady our ship of state, bind up our common wounds, and lead us into our next national chapter.
Reed Galen added —
Joe Biden has the humanity, empathy and steadiness we need in a national leader.
Kamala Harris could be making her way to Joe Biden’s Vice Presidency
In other news, Joe Biden had a virtual fundraiser done, after Bernie Sanders exited the race. The Democratic candidate was joined by California Sen. Kamala Harris.

As she introduced him to the donors, she said, “Joe Biden has a way of working on these issues, not only to improve the lives of all Americans, but to improve their ability to believe that everything is going to be okay,”
Since then, people have been wondering if she could be the potential Vice President pick and the ideal running mate as Joe Biden cuts to chase for the Presidential Ticket.
