August is here with the much-awaited DC FanDome on the horizon. The 24-hour-long digital event will share with fans several updates about DC Comics, video games, TV shows, movies and more. After skipping Comic-con@Home this year in an unprecedented move, WB will bring fans their own first virtual convention.
First questions first. What exactly is the DC FanDome event? We all are fans of the Comic-Con, right? Now, imagine a comic convention especially for DC fans. While that means no Marvel news. Warner Bros-hosted DC FanDome will be a 24-hour long exclusive virtual experience’ for loyal fans. The global digital event is absolutely free! The multimedia experience will be telecasted on 22nd August at 10 a.m. PT across the world.

For the first half of the year, WB has been on a spree to right their wrongs. With surprising new developments related to its HBO Max platform and the DC movies, WB’s superhero-verse hasn’t looked this promising in a long while.
In an official announcement, WB’s Chair and CEO, Ann Sarnoff, appreciated fans saying, āthere is no fan like a DC fan.ā Stating an 85-year-old legacy of DC heroes like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, she promised a personalized journey for fans worldwide. Sarnoff further added,
With DC FanDome, weāre able to give fans from around the world an exciting and unparalleled way to connect with all their favourite DC characters, as well as the incredible talents who bring them to life on the page and screen.
The event will be available in nine global languages including Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish.

What Fans Can Expect?
DC FanDome will see participation from 300 actors, creators, artists, crew, global hosts, presenters, and also special guests from across the DC/WB universe all coming together for the virtual event. This means that for 24 hours, fans will get exclusive glimpses into movies storylines, the upcoming TV shows, previews of games, comics, art and much more.
Moviegoers should get ready for an exclusive sneak-peak into Zack Snyder’s Cut of the Justice League. Since the project was announced for WB’s HBO Max platform back in May, fans have been unable to keep their calm. Snyder recently gave fans an exclusive look at Henry Cavill’s Black Suit during the fan-organized event Justice Con. During FanDome, fans are expecting to see a teaser or an exclusive clip.
Then there’s James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. While some fans are busy demanding #ReleaseTheAyerCut, Gunn has promised new footage to the fans on twitter.
From WB’s ever-expanding Batman catalogue, the cast and creators of Robert Pattinson’s The Batman will be present including the much-anticipated Val Kilmer sideshow. While the names of Pattinson’s other cast members are missing fans expect costume reveals for some of them including the Batman. Further, Kilmer’s return has added to the charisma of the event.
Surprisingly, Michael Keaton will be missing from The Flash panel. Then there’s the much-delayed Gal Gadot starrer Wonder Woman 1984. However, Aquaman Jason Momoa is set to be absent although the movie’s director James Wan did confirm his presence.
Black Adam star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson also teased fans with a special teaser for DC Fandome. His friend, the much-loved Superman aka Henry Cavill’s absence has gotten fans expecting a surprise visit.
Let’s Not Forget The OTT Services
WB’s new HBO Max platform is going to showcase many DC characters in the coming times while Snyder’s JL will debut sometime mid-2021. More information is expected about Matt Reeves’ Batman spin-off show on the platform
While DC has much exciting news about the movies, it did not leave behind fan favourite TV shows. Stars from DC shows such as Batwoman, Black Lightning, Super Hero Girls, Legends of Tomorrow, Stargirl, Titans, Doom Patrol, The Flash, Harley Quinn, Lucifer, Supergirl, Superman & Lois, Teen Titans GO!, Titans, Watchmen, and Young Justice: Outsiders will also be present.
The new Suicide Squad game announced by Rocksteady Studios, developers best-known for Batman: Arkham series, has also attracted fans’ attention. By the looks of it, the Man of Steel seems to be the squad’s target.
