About Diana: “Diana’s legacy was one of the fairytale princess who was cruelly awakened to the world of hurt, betrayal and humiliation. Women of all ages found a mirror image of themselves.”
Heads Up! Stop, Rewind, Play – Remembering Princess Diana’s Fashion Sense
- Lady Diana’s fashion sense continues to inspire generations
- Millennials follow the same as a mantra.
- Bold and courageous, Princess Diana’s fashion sense is here to prevail.
It’s been more than two decades since her death. However, what has remained a thing to admire for generations, and continues to do so, is Lady Diana’s sense of fashion.
A legacy to behold
Mother of Prince Harry and Prince William, Lady Diana launched some out-of-the-box and unique trends during her time. What makes them special is the fact that those trends have become increasingly popular over the course of so many years.
Well, it’s no secret that we millennials are super picky and rarely take up fashion inspirations from the trends that date back in time. However, Lady Diana’s sense of fashion has time and again inspired runway models, photoshoots, and basically everyone who’s into fashion.
The Millennial Mantra
It wasn’t a while ago that Justin Bieber’s beau Hailey Baldwin did a whole photoshoot rocking outfits that were inspired by Lady Diana’s sense of fashion. I was blown away!! Not that I’m not into fashion. But the sudden realization that THIS was insane, it was THE trend, and Princess Diana slew it being so far ahead of her time, had me fall head over heels in love with her. Yep, all over again.

Her trademark retro look is getting dogged out of the archives to appear in catwalks and high streets. From fashion influencers to models, everyone wants a piece of it.
Fashion for a cause or vice versa?
The People’s princess was known to convey messages through her outfits. Well, that was her way of expressing and we wouldn’t have it any other way! I think apart from the return of the 80s fashion, Lady Diana’s sense of fashion has also made a comeback for stronger and more meaningful reasons.
Millennials are all about asserting, creating an impact, voicing their opinion, and making a statement. Gone are the days when women would sit around and hesitate from going out there and telling the world what they thought about anything and everything.
With the fight for equality, women have also owned the fight for setting examples. What better way is there to tell the world that you are you than carrying your fashion sense with class and boldness.
We sure did learn a lot from the ever-bold people’s princess.
From biker shorts to oversized blazers, from puffed sleeves to clashing block color tones, Lady Diana’s sense of fashion is here to stay and stay for the long haul!
