Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi gave the keynote address today at the inaugural Republic TV Summit on the theme – Surging India. In his speech, Modi elaborated on the achievements of his government since coming to power in 2014, while making comparisons to the state of affairs under the previous UPA regime.
Some of the major transformations that the PM highlighted during his speech were India’s race towards a US$ 5 trillion economy; improvement in ease of doing business ranking to 77 from 152; facilitation of poor people with BHIM app and debit cards; rapid expansion in aviation sector; initiation of National Waterways and even the extradition of Agusta scam middleman Christian Michel and conviction of 1984 Congress accused (implied as reference to Sajjan Kumar.
