The introduction of Khonshu in Moon Knight shows that MCU is setting up Elder Gods to face Gorr the God Butcher in Thor 4.
Moon Knight introduced us to Khonshu, the Egyptian Moon God. He is also an Elder God. This in all probability ties him along with other Egyptian Gods and Elder Gods to Thor 4. Why? Because of the villain of Thor 4 aka Thor: Love and Thunder i.e. Gorr the God Butcher.

Who are the Elder Gods?
After Earth came into being, Demiurge, Earth’s life force, spawned the Elder Gods, including Set, Oshtur, Gaea, and Chthon. When the degeneration of the Elder Gods began with Set beginning to devour other Elder Gods to increase his power, all the other gods, save for Gaea, started doing the same. This continuous devouring turned them into demons e.g. Nethergods.
Oshtur however left Earth thousands of years before the degeneration began to explore the stars. On the other hand, Gaea spawned Demiurge and mated with it, thus giving birth to Atum who is also known as the Sun-God Amon-Ra or Ra. Amon Ra in turn is the father of Khonshu. He is the one who chose his own avatar on Earth i.e. Sun King who would go on to become a Moon Knight villain.

Furthermore, Oshtur would go on to give birth to Agamotto, Earth’s first Sorcerer Supreme. Oshtur was also responsible for the creation of the Vishanti, a trio of supernatural beings who served as the Sorcerer Supreme’s patrons.
Again, Agamotto was the one who created the Eye of Agamotto as well as the Book of Vishanti. With both the Eye of Agamotto and the Book of Vishanti rumoured to show up in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it seems that Elder Gods will tie into this movie as well.
The Egyptian Gods of Moon Knight
Moon Knight has already given us Khonshu, the Egyptian God of the Moon as well as Ammit or Ammut, the Devourer of the Dead. And we already mentioned Amon-Ra or Ra, father of Khonshu. It doesn’t seem fair for only Khonshu to move on to Thor: Love and Thunder as an Elder God. Hopefully, Marvel will take the other Gods too to Thor 4 and give them the status of Elder Gods as well.
The Chaos Logic and Thor 4
In Moon Knight Episode 1, Arthur tells Steven, “There’s chaos in you.”
Knull, the King of Symbiotes, in a recent King in Black issue revealed that Khonshu is not just the Moon God but also an Elder God as well. Now, we already know that Chthon, also an Elder God, is the beholder of Chaos Magic and the creator of Darkhold. Darkhold is the very book from which we see Wanda aka Scarlet Witch reading in the mid-credits scene of the last episode of WandaVision.
This thus connects Moon Knight and Scarlet Witch. (This can lead to Moon Knight appearing in Doctor Strange 2 as well as Scarlet Witch’s cameo in Moon Knight.) Marvel can thus use chaos magic to connect all the Elder Gods before introducing them all in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Gorr the God Butcher and All-Black Necrosword
In the comics, the weapon of Gorr the God Butcher is known as All-Black, the Necrosword. In the comics, Knull, king of Symbiotes, is the first wielder of the sword. In fact, the All-Black is the world’s first sentient symbiote and is made from Knull’s very shadow.
Before symbiotes were alien beings, they were swords. The All-Black grants its wielder powers like god-like strength, shape-shifting, space travel, regeneration, and manipulation of dark energy. Gorr stumbles upon the sword after Knull is left wounded following a battle with another God.
It is then that Gorr uses the weapon to destroy all the gods, including the Elder Gods. There are also reports of MCU about to introduce its own pantheon of gods in Thor: Love and Thunder. This includes Zeus (Russel Crowe) which also hints at the arrival of Hercules.
This can also include the Elder Gods, along with those from Moon Knight. This further sets the stage for a battle of “cosmic proportions” between the God-pantheon and Gorr.
Arrival of Knull at the MCU
With Eddie Brock leaving a piece of Venom in MCU Spider-Man: No Way Home, we can safely say that the arrival of symbiotes is imminent. And with Gorr the God Butcher wielding the All-Black, Knull’s arrival isn’t far either.
However, Knull is a Spider-Man character and thus has his rights belonging to Sony. So, we will have to wait to see how either of the two production giants brings in Knull. Moreover, with Madame Web already in the pipeline for Sony, Knull deserves his arrival big time.
Gorr the God Butcher might even kill Thor himself in Thor 4 aka Thor: Love and Thunder. But it is unlikely that he will kill Khonshu since it would take away the powers of Moon Knight. Khonshu needs to live as Moon Knight will go on to other projects, especially MCU’s Midnight Sons.
