In today’s world of corporate slavery, every employee needs a break and thus, the art of Corporate Detox.

In today’s world of corporate slavery, where days go in the blink of an eye and become weeks, months and years of toil, it is important that every employee takes a break i.e. a corporate detox. The modern human, who has a life and isn’t a mechanical robot, needs cleansing from the daily grind, time and again.
For the ones who do not follow this path of corporate and digital detoxification, ambition alone can often lead to the path to depression, anxiety, obesity, and maybe an early death.
Studies show that the most productive employees can stretch themselves for a span of 52 minutes. However, after which it becomes imperative for the mind and the body to get away from the monitor. The most empathetic work environments today try to provide mind space for their employees but office stress of the 21st Century cannot be solved by a walk or a tea break.
Our Understanding of the Trajectory of Work Life
The sheer odds at stake and the competition in the market make this an age of strict deadlines, pampering clients, and manipulating the environment to suit your ambitions. But the most successful of corporate conquerors often forget the biggest parameter of success: to pamper their own mind and soul to a long life.
What every one of us needs to understand is that we are now accustomed to a certain kind of a materialistic lifestyle. This lifestyle is well supported by the income that is drawn at the end of each month. So, most of us come to believe that running away from this rat race is not an option, or to rephrase it, not an “easy option “.

Along with the acceptance, that we need these high-pressure corporate jobs to pay off our thirst for material belongings, there also needs to be a realization that once in a while you need to take the much-required break or as some say a digital detox trip.
Corporate aka Digital Detox
After spending 60% of their time in front of the monitor, no individual has the patience to curate a detox trip by themselves. Thus, it does not come as shock to us when we see individuals in the corporate world spending a hefty amount on an artistic retreat to Ibiza or a retreat for the soul in the green habitat of the Himalayas.
One needs to understand that such trips will take away a long term earning away from them but only satisfy a short-lived yearning for “Nirvana”. Instead, each one of us slogging individuals need to make this detox a part of our life and the corporate culture.
Making Detox a part of Corporate Culture
As a first step, we have to stop engaging in any work-related communications, such as email, outside of working hours. Utilize this time to actively engage in conversations and interactions in the “physical” world and less in the “corporate” world.

Wait, another article about the same old preaching? Probably yes! But the preaching is relentless because it has become redundant to most of us. Moreover, this is a reality, the human race is lethargic when not ambitious or passionate. And it falls into patterns with ease, be it beneficial or harmful. So, it is but obvious that to achieve the impact of your detox trips or breaks, you have to make it a pattern, and a part of your corporate setup.
Where to Start your Corporate Detox endeavour?
To begin with, a basic line on understanding the effects of meditation. It helps to reduce the prolonged effects of office politics, forced socialization, training and helps curtail anger, particularly during the rush hour traffic.
The next must-do is to travel. Start by exploring your own city, then travel to nearby places that you can cover over your weekend. Try going to all the new places on your own. Solo Travel is no easy task as you have to let go of the comfort zone.
You could get lost in an unknown environment in the middle of the night. Or maybe, end up hungry, with no money and language barriers. But, one thing is guaranteed, the process helps you to learn a lot more about yourself. It opens doors to a number of opportunities that you might never have thought of otherwise.
Why Corporate Ambitions without Detox make no sense
The human brain is productive even when it’s low on efficiency. But for it to be innovative and creative, it needs to have had proper rest. The aspect of creativity is often forgotten in a number of corporate structures which rely on mechanical efficiency rather than innovation.
Most successful corporate conquerors often forget the biggest parameter of success: to pamper their own mind and soul to a long life.
The “detox” aspect is necessary because it takes a conscious effort to take a break from thoughts constantly fed to our brains for decades. The corporate plan for success: Work hard in your prime, retire early and then do all the things you missed out on during your prime.

But what most never realize until too late, is the amount of pressure that ambition puts on mind and body. It makes their chances of retiring in shape to achieve the bucket list really bleak. Therefore, making detox a mandatory aspect of every job description of the global corporate culture is the need of the hour.
