Manipulated Fake BIS Report and Deliberate Fear Mongering: A Union Minister just misused his Office and there have to be consequences.
After an inconclusive BIS Report released by Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan created mass hysteria in Delhi, a more startling truth has now emerged. So, AAP challenged the union minister to reveal the sources from where the samples were collected.
BIS published the addresses and contact details of the locations of residents from whose homes the 11 samples were taken. But what happened next was unforeseen. Consequently, the media flocked to the addresses and stumbled on a shocking expose.
FAKE BIS REPORT ON DELHI’S WATER QUALITY
Address #1: No Complaint Filed, No Sample Taken
When media approached address no. 1 A-2, UG Floor, B-Block, Khasra no. 776, Sri Siddhi Vinay Apartment in Burari, the resident Deepak Kumar Roy said on camera that no sample was taken from his house.
Address #3: Ram Vilas Paswan’s Own Address
Address no. 3 is 12 Janpath, New Delhi which is Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan’s residence. However, the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) supplies water in the area and not the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) headed by CM Kejriwal.
Address #7: Office Bearer of Paswan’s Party LJP
Similarly, address no. 7 is Pooja Sharma, HN 182, Galli no. 9, A- Block, Baba Colony, Burari. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Burari Sanjeev Jha alleged that Ms. Sharma is the wife of Manoj Sharma, Vice President, Lok Janshakti Party.
Address #9: LJP Party Workers took Sample and not BIS Officials
When media reached out to address no. 9, E-5/69, Nand Nagari, Delhi. Contact person Elias mentioned that the sample was taken by LJP Party Workers from his house after he had complained to LJP Delhi Vice President Hari Prakash Kandotia. Moreover, Elias says that after the complaint, the water has been clean for over a month.
Time for a Final Showdown
Kejriwal blamed BJP for spreading “fear” among the people of Delhi. He further demanded an apology from Paswan for “defaming” the Delhi government and also “publishing fake reports”.
So, the Delhi government has nominated Delhi Jal Board (DJB) vice-chairman Dinesh Mohaniya and Board member Shalabh Kumar for a joint water sampling and testing along with Paswan nominated BIS director-general Pramod Kumar Tiwari and deputy director-general Jayant Kumar Chaudhary.
NDA and Paswan have an explanation to give
Furthermore, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) questioned why Paswan had lied to people. CM Kejriwal said, “Sir, you say that you took a sample of water from them (citizens quoted in the news report) and that sample failed, while they say that you did not take any sample from them. They also say that they are satisfied with water. You lied so big? Being a Union Minister, such a big fraud with the people?”
Furthermore, AAP has demanded that Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan resign for releasing a fake BIS report. Moreover, AAP senior leader Sanjay Singh questioned Paswan on “whose provocation he lied and defamed Delhi” with the allegations.
