Donald Trump Story: Captain Chaos or Commando of Change? Disruptor in Chief or Chief Commander of USA?
A President who is All but ‘Presidential’
About two years back, the United States of America thought they had voted ‘Donald John Trump’ as their 45th President -What they got, instead, was the USA’s first paradox. And a President who is all but Presidential– Deepak Kaistha
Yes, Donald Trump story is, by a long shot, the most un-presidential President in history. Not just of the USA, but, perhaps, of the world. But what exactly makes him such a trend bucking aberration? What are the leanings, symptoms and traits that make him the anomaly of the millennium?
It is time to get ‘DKODING Trump’ : The riddle within the puzzle, within the enigma.
Trump was the chosen one when it comes to being ‘Guilty till proven otherwise’.
Donald’s victimization of large sections of the American population intrigues the imagination, his own victimization by the media completely baffles it. What can explain the fact that a staggering 90% of Donald Trump’s media coverage – by moguls like ABC, CBS and NBC – has been negatively biased? And the culprit list features mega media what can explain – why his good deeds have been so casually and callously brushed under the carpet?
What got even ex-President Jimmy Carter to say, “The media has been harder on Trump than any other president”?
The smaller reason is that Donald Trump has actually threatened to take away the credentials of media organizations. The President has repeatedly raised the possibility of cancelling the daily press briefings.
But the bigger reason is that Donald Trump has always been the media’s ‘CHOSEN ONE’. The media loves headlines, and it had been patiently waiting for Trump to become President. What we see is just the climax of a build-up that’s been happening over the years.
Donald Trump story is of a political head with no political background.
What can you expect from someone who has been in business and showbiz all his life? Donald Trump is probably the only President of the USA with zero political background. And carries
negligible knowledge of the constitution. But the cherry on the cake, is that he isn’t interested in knowing much about it, either. What’s worse is that he doesn’t care. This by itself means that if America went to vote for the most Un-presidential President ever, Donald Trump would win it uncontested.
Donald Trump story is of not an economist, but then he gets it better than most economists.
That’s because Donald may not have the qualification to be an economist, but certainly has the instinct. And the proof is in your face. The Vital Signs of the US economy are looking real rosy ever since Donald Trump took over.
Accelerating GDP growth – historic tax and regulatory reforms – the creation of over 4 lac jobs- an unemployment rate of just 4.1 percent- surging levels of confidence in corporate corridors- a stunning withdrawal from the Paris climate change agreement – and a readiness to negotiate mutually beneficial bilateral trade agreements with every country in the world.
They all display a NOSE for economic goodness that’s inborn and inherent.
He failed as a businessman, but never fails to excite Wall Street.
Yes, the record is embarrassing.
Donald’s professional football team never scored.
He bankrupted his casinos , no not once, not twice, but FIVE times over.
His airline business – named after him – crashed in less than three years.
And his surname continues to feature on a long list of embarrassing scams like Trump Vodka and Trump University.
But let’s not forget that Donald approaches life with a mix of guts and instincts, which is not very different from that of a gambler. Sure that gambling instinct may have let him down in the past, but the law of averages seems to be catching up with him finally. Which explains the Midas moments he is experiencing of late. Yes, the stock market has recorded ‘HIGHS’ a staggering 70 times during Donald’s tenure. And, get this – the stock market rose 5,000 points in a year – for the first time in US history.
Donald Trump story is popular with the masses, despite his mass scale excesses.
The New York-based Conference Board tell us that in October of 2017, consumer confidence rose to its highest level in 17 years. Indeed, studies by the Conference Board and one by the University of Michigan suggest that Donald scores big on 3 prominent indices –
In fact, all 3 are at their highest in decades. It’s hard to understand how a man who is
trolled by the masses on social media everyday commands such high levels of public confidence. There’s a simple explanation to it – People react loudly, but respond quietly. So while people have been vocal on the President, deep down, they have given credit where it’s due.
A NEVER BEFORE | exposé | ON DONALD TRUMP | DKODING TRUMP – EPISODE1
Donald Trump is the Ultimate Paradox:
Why do I call Donald Trump a paradox? Because he is a burning bag of opposites.
Firstly – Despite the world being wary of him, Donald has led a trail of positive world tour. He successfully worked out a trade deal with China, Vietnam and South Korea. The United States’ relationship with Israel is so much better than it was during Obama’s regime. Vibes are positive with Japan, UK and Russia.
Secondly – You would think a man with the size of Donald’s ego would have trouble eating his words. Or swallowing his pride. And you would be wrong. In a rare admission, Donald freely accepted that he was wrong on Afghanistan and reversed Obama’s disastrous withdrawal. And compared to his election time rhetoric, he has even mellowed on the issue of immigration.
Thirdly – Donald Trump seems to swing both ways when it comes to women. He has been accused of harassing women. At the same time, he has given plum roles and responsible jobs to women.
Trump’s been trampling on snakes:
Trump may well have rubbed North Korea and Iran the wrong way. Considering these are nuclear capable nations, this could be dangerous. In fact, it mistakenly led to a scare about a nuclear attack on Hawaii. When other Presidents go soft on rogue nations so to speak, Trump’s approach can be as un-presidential as it can get.
What got him to do that? Donald himself provides the answer when he says that he isn’t the President for the whole world. He is only the president of the USA. In other words, America First for Donald. And if he must be tough for his country, then so be it.
Donald’s been playing with fire:
Trump has been making flippant comments about the possibility of war. He has been praising autocratic rulers and dictatorial leaders. He has been cozying up to shamefully bigoted groups like the KKK. He may even stop peace negotiations in the Middle East by reversed decades of foreign policy and recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Such callousness on such inflammable matters can stoke fear, create confusion and lead to fatal consequences. If may be Un-Presidential, but if you ask me, it is classic Trump.
You see, the answer to this riddle partly lies in Donald’s Grab and Shake style. His ‘Bull in a china shop way of functioning. But the other part of the answer is far more profound. Donald knows that desperate times need desperate measures. He has seen the diplomacy of his predecessors fail. And he believes that the only way to save America – and the world – is to strike fire, with fire.
Trump’s been making Suicidal Moves:
Donald Trump story has been like literally he has been shooting himself in the foot.
Take the case of the Russia investigations. The findings of Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III could threaten the very
existence of the Trump administration. Without an overwhelming majority, goodwill or confidence, going ahead with a move like this is like shooting one’s self in the foot.
Then, consider the policies Donald has suggested – such as
ending the Affordable Health Care Act which is also known as Obamacare. It can make him a villain with voters.
What can explain these series of suicidal moves? It’s perhaps, because Donald just doesn’t care about the results of the next elections. He is his own man, and refuses to let even the voting axe dictate his policies. That doesn’t just make him grossly unpresidential, but a very rare Head of a Democratic State. Can you remember the last time a President was willing to sacrifice his own future survival? Possibly can’t!
Cocking a snook at values:
Donald hasn’t just been toying with tradition, he has been making a mockery of the values America has been built on!
Take his compulsive lying – it is unprecedented and has taken US politics to a new low.
He re-scripted his conversations with Putin. He denied scolding British Prime Minister Theresa May. He lied about access to Hollywood tapes – gun rights – immigrants… you name it.
But that’s not all. Here’s the big 10 :
- Militaristic rhetoric, gutting one’s own State Department.
- Offensive against the press.
- Downplaying of human rights.
- Cheating on contractors.
- Frivolous lawsuits.
- Prejudice against race and religion.
- Contempt for multilateral diplomacy.
- Lack of respect for war veterans.
- Distrust of trade deals.
- Making fun of an American Prisoner of War.
Donald has been making a mockery of the principles that define the heart of the USA. What can you attribute this to?
It all boils down to the parallel universe Donald has painstakingly crafted for himself. It’s one where the ethics and laws are aligned with Donald’s unique vision of the world. And are designed to help him accomplish his goals without the
shackles of rules, or the resistance of scruples.
Donald knows it’s a bubble that may burst anyday. It’s just that he is determined to get his job done, before that happens. A year and a half left, we are perhaps no closer to making Trump change his ways. Maybe he shouldn’t, because that’s what makes him the ‘Trump’- a good majority of USA voted to power. But we are perhaps a little closer to understanding the engine that ticks under that bonnet.
