Pokémon Go makers all set to launch the Harry Potter-themed follow up worldwide
The rollout of “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite” will begin in the United States and the United Kingdom, according to the game’s official trailer. It’ll support iOS and Android. It’s unclear when the game will debut in other regions.
The free to play the game will be available on Friday, June 21 and the Google Play Store and Apple App Store both already have landing pages for the release.
The game will allow players to use the real world to search for signs of magic and encounter some of the books most iconic characters.
The news of the release date comes from the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite official twitter account.
The augmented reality game was developed by Niantic Labs, which created the hugely successful Pokemon Go.The game, which was released in 2016, allows players to find and capture the popular fictional critters, which appear on users’ phones as if they were really living in the real world.
According to a synopsis of the game: “For the first time, you’ll soon embark on your own Wizarding World adventure together with friends in the real world.
“Harry Potter: Wizards Unite combines content and characters you know and loves from both the original Harry Potter series and the Fantastic Beasts films in a unique Wizarding World experience.”
Needless to say that knowledge of the Harry Potter universe is key to understanding the creatures and elements you will tackle in the game.
