Girl from Muzaffarpur, Bihar was killed for attending school
A 17-year-old girl was killed for attending school in Sanpura village of Muzaffarpur district in Bihar.
A teenager was killed on friday night by a group of seven men who wanted her to stop attending school
and while they kept her family locked inside the house.
A villager stated that the community members were against girls studying after matriculation level. The
girl’s guts to pursue higher education had therefore enraged the community members leading to this
incident.
The seven accused had allegedly held the girl’s brother and his wife hostage inside their own house while
they carried out the brutal killing.
The matter came on the evening of 31 March, when the girl’s brother lodged an FIR at Motipur police
station alleging his sister’s murder on Friday, and also complained that he and his wife had been held
hostages for several hours in their own house.
SSP Muzaffarpur, Manoj Kumar, said: “A girl has died under suspicious circumstances. The victim’s family along with their neighbours has already cremated the body. The FIR filed mentions some serious accusations based on which he had arrested three people. The pieces of evidence were tampered with and so we have taken action based on the FIR but the story narrated in the FIR makes it worthy of a serious investigation.”
“The deputy SP is leading the investigation team to get to the root of the incident and the truth will come out soon”. he added.
