Manoj Bajpayee was honoured with the fourth highest civilian award, the Padma Shri
President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday bestowed the Padma awards upon prominent personalities in the field of art, music, sports and social work.
The ceremony was held at Darbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan which include, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his cabinet colleagues Rajnath Singh, Harsh Vardhan, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Vijay Goel besides senior BJP leader L K Advani and senior government officials.
This year, 112 personalities were shortlisted for the Padma Award. The first set of Padma awards was presented on March 11, in which President Kovind had presented awards to 56 personalities. The remaining 56 were honoured on March 16.

This year’s awardees comprised of 4 PadmaVibhushan, 14 Padma Bhushan and 94 PadmaShrirecipients. Padma awards, which were announced on Republic Day, include 21 women and 11 persons from the category of foreigners, NRI, PIO, OCI, and one transgender person. The government had received nearly 50,000 nominations for this years Padma awards.
