Will there be a second season?
‘Outer Banks’ Season 1 was a surprise
With only one season underway, the show-makers ended the season on a major cliffhanger, one that would guarantee a second season.
In the show, a 16-year old Pogue named John B (Chase Stokes) lives on his own after his treasure-seeking father disappears. He and his friend JJ (Rudy Pankow) hang out and fish together, and that’s pretty much all they do.
But, John’s life is no cake-walk. Because of his age, the authorities want to put him in a new home. Meanwhile, the Kooks of town, Ward Cameron (Charles Esten), and his teenage daughter, Sarah (Madelyn Cline), are heavily influencing his personal life.
The reason for doing so intermingles with the Pogue’s plan to locate the long-lost treasure of a sunken ship called “The Merchant”. But, season 1 ended with John B and his girlfriend Sarah escaping the island on an aquatic adventure just as the storm arrived.
How is the future looking for John and Sarah in ‘Outer Banks’ Season 2?
‘Outer Banks’ Season 2: Yay or Nay?
Fans have been waiting since May for the second season, but so far, nothing has been made official. The show about class and love was an instant hit with the viewers globally, and the resistance to go ahead with another season irks the sentiment of its fans.

The next season could lead John B and Sarah to the same location where Ward Cameron has hidden the gold provided that the boat that rescues them, takes them to the Bahamas.
If the first season taught the viewers anything, it is that these two always have something planned. The next season of ‘Outer Banks’ will focus on John B and Sarah’s continued quest to find the gold, making Ward Cameron pay his dues and prove John B’s innocence to the police.

‘Outer Banks’: Release date and the cast returns
Well, there is some good news.
Co-creator Josh Pate recently revealed that he plans to carry out the show for at least four seasons.
Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline are likely to return to the series as John B and Sarah Cameron, following their disappearance. And fan-favorite Pope (Jonathan Daviss) and JJ (Rudy Pankow) are also set to star in the second season.
The final member of the group, Kiara (Madison Bailey), should return as well. We last saw her mourning the disappearance of John B and JJ. But perhaps, the character whose return is most anticipated is Ward Cameron, as fans are eager to see the villain of the series pay his dues.
The second season won’t likely be returning before April 2021.
