Veteran artist and screen writer Crazy Mohan passes away at 67 due to cardiac arrest.
Mohan Rangachari, a Mechanical Engineer by profession was a Renowned Tamil writer, actor, comedian and playwright.
In college, he wrote his first script on “Great Bank Robbery” for an inter-collegiate contest and that is how he fell for the writing.
In 1976, Mohan wrote his first full-length play called “Crazy Thieves in Paalavakkam”, which added the moniker ‘Crazy’ to his name. After writing for other productions, Mohan decided to start his own troupe and founded Crazy Creations in 1979.
He has written over 30 plays, worked on over 40 films (and played cameo roles in each of these films), and written 100 short stories.
Mohan was a recipient of the Kalaimamani award given by the Tamil Nadu government for excellence in the field of art and literature.”After he complained of pain in his chest and suffered a heart attack, he was rushed to Kauvery hospital in the afternoon. Efforts were taken to revive him but unfortunately he passed away around 2 p.m.,” a family source told IANS.
