A glimpse into Tony Stark’s AI Technology
The world is no more a stranger to Artificial Intelligence. AI is evolving and humans with it. A creatively simulated ability of machines to make them imitate human behaviour and conventional response patterns, which is made possible with specific algorithms. And this is one of the reasons why Tony Stark calls himself an AI Genius or should we say a Mechanic or Mad Scientist.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, AI has played an important role. Most of the AI’s are made by none other than Tony Stark. He built a silicon valley inside Stark Industries and we in the real world can totally relate to it because we are now more or less surrounded by them, whether it’s Siri, Alexa and Google. Tony has built several AI’s.
Highlights! Dum-E and Dum-U
Tony was born smart, and you would not believe but he built a robotic arm at the age of 17 and named it Dum-E sounds like (Dummy). He made it in his father’s workshop and found it useful so he kept it. As we have seen Stark has a habit of working alone on these kinds of projects, Dum-E assists him. There is a Dum-U also which is used to the registration of Stark’s work using video camera. Dum-E and Dum-U have helped Tony when he was building Mark II in the Iron Man (2008).
JARVIS is the only name Tony Stark has taken in his life more than anyone else’s. J.A.R.V.I.S actually stands for. It is “Just A Rather Very Intelligent System”, well lmao, funny right. Well, that’s what Tony decided to call it. JARVIS was originally Tony Stark’s natural-language user interface computer system.
As a Marvel fan, you must be aware that Tony named this AI after his father Howard Stark’s butler name. And he is the one who gave the voice of JARVIS in all the movies it appeared. JARVIS was tasked with running the business for Stark Industries as well as security for Tony Stark’s Mansion and Stark Tower. After Creating Mark II armour Tony uploads JARVIS into all of the Iron Man armours.
Eventually in Avengers: Age of Ultron, when Tony and Bruce were creating Ultron with the help of JARVIS. Ultron destroys JARVIS, but JARVIS’s remaining programming codes unknowingly continued to sabotage Ultron’s plans of gaining access to the nuclear missiles.
F.R.I.D.A.Y stands for “Female Replacement Intelligent Digital Assistant Youth”. When Stark and Banner uploaded the remaining into the synthetic body made of Vibranium and a mixture of Ultron’s personality and an infinity stone and some thunder shocks by Thor makes a new being called Vision. F.R.I.D.A.Y worked as a replacement for JARVIS. Where JARVIS’s voice codes were patterned after a male English accent FRIDAY’s voice codes were patterned after a female Irish one.
Tony Stark picked FRIDAY out of all his back up programs that included J.O.C.A.S.T.A and T.A.D.A.S.H.I. FRIDAY was uploaded into Mark XLV Armour which assisted Tony during the Battle of Sokovia.
Also, FRIDAY monitored Ultron’s attempts to escape into the internet when Vision attacked him, and FRIDAY’s mission was to track his attempt and ensure he did not succeed.
“Even Dead, I’m The Hero”, well there is a no match of Tony Stark when it comes to humour. EDITH is an augmented reality security system created by Tony Stark and bequeathed to Peter Parker post Iron Man’s death in the Avengers: Endgame.
EDITH is installed in a sunglass that Peter Parker gets as a gift in Spider-Man Far From Home. EDITH gives access to its user to the security, defense and tactical intelligence properties as well as the Stark Industries global satellite network and capable enough to hack into nearly any computerized devices. And you would remember that scene when Peter accidently targets a kid with a missile inside his bus to kill and eventually destroys it himself.
