Highlights! Disney Heads hints at possible Disney+ release of Mutants and X men
- Marvel Cinematic Universe’s The New Mutants
- Marvel and Fox X-Men Deal
- X-Men Easter Egg in Thor: The Dark World
The Internet is everything in quarantine. Everyone is busy watching something. So Marvel, coming up with the fourth phase including series like Loki and Wandavision will be released as web series. Eventually, Mutants will also become a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
MCU’s The New Mutants
There’s a lot of mayhem going on due to the Marvel new phase being pushed further into the future due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Many movies and TV series are affected but one movie that has not been talked about is Disney’s The New Mutants.
Now after announcing the new phase for Marvel movies, Disney head Bob Iger spoke about other anticipated movies. “There are some [movies] we’ve decided to put on Disney Plus,” he says, referencing Artemis Fowl, which was originally planned for a cinematic release. “In some cases, we’ve moved things onto Disney Plus faster than we would have,” Gamespot quoted.
So the Fans have more than one reason to believe that New Mutants might directly release on Disney+.
There happen to be a new section in Disney+ that started to show a bunch of X-Men artwork like they are setting a new path for Marvel X-men content. Their brand new artwork is of the characters in their costumes from X-men the animated series which seems like MCU is giving some signs of launching brand new X-men content.

In July 2019, Marvel studio President Kevin Feige announced the mutants would become a part of the franchise. Eventually according to the reports they might introduce X-men with Avengers in a film that will not be released until Marvel enters its 6th phase. Also, Wolverine might appear again on the big screen in the early 5th phase, which seems like the makers are officially planning to bring the X-men into the fold.
Marvel-Fox X-Men Deal & Magneto’s Timeline
In 1993, Marvel sold rights to the X-men as well as Fantastic Four to 20th Century Fox due to avoid bankruptcy. But Finally, Marvel owns the rights to the characters from the X-men. As we have over the years in the X-men movie that the timeline does not exactly add up and especially for Magneto. But MCU does make sure to stick to its established timeline.
Magneto in the comics as well as in the multiple movies has lived through the Holocaust as a young Jewish boy and the kind of losses he has experienced create his own point of view towards the world. If MCU wanted to keep Magneto’s origin story then he would be an old man in the present Marvel Cinematic Universe according to Fox’s X-men chronology.
X-Men Easter Egg in Thor: The Dark World
Thor: The Dark World has been ranked the worst-reviewed movie to date in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and fans would agree with it. Apart from this fact Thor: The Dark World did the groundwork by introducing the Soul Stone and the importance of the Quantum Realm. But now it seems like the movie did consist of an Easter egg that tells a little bit about The New Mutants, which nobody would have noticed. Remember Dr Selvig, whom Loki got under control in the first Avengers movie to open the portal in the sky through which The Chitauri into the Earth.

According to ScreenRant the scene where Dr Selvig is trying to explain the convergence to the inmates at the mental hospital he was residing in, has a complex layout on the blackboard which was full of different celestial anomalies and events that are integral parts of the make-up of the MCU. THE FAULT is one of those events that stand out on the blackboard. In the Marvel comics, it is an important part of space in the Marvel comics that revolves around the history of X-men.
