Fox’s Dark Phoenix Had an MCU Connection
Fox’s 2019 release Dark Phoenix marked the end of Fox’s Marvel characters. The movie didn’t do well on the box office finally showing fans disinterest in the new iterations of the X-Men Characters. But the movie had a connection with Marvel Studios’ Infinity Saga.
Director of the Dark Phoenix Simon Kinberg recently told IANS about his fondness for the Marvel Comics and X-Men being a part of the vast universe. He said,
For me, it’s very natural for the X-Men to be part of the larger Marvel universe. I still remember the iconic cover of them with the Avengers. I’d love to see them interacting with all the other Marvel characters. So I am excited to see what all it’s going to look like.
Kinberg who penned the Dark Phoenix also made his directorial debut with the movie. He revealed that the space scene in Dark Phoenix mimics Captain Marvel which is a direct MCU reference.

In the Marvel Comic Universe Magneto can lift Thor’s famous hammer Mjolnir since it’s made of metal. He said, “The possibilities are limitless but I do like the idea of Magneto with Thor or with some of the more comedic characters and seeing what the interaction could be like.”
While most of the theories and leaks haven’t materialized it would be interesting to see if MCU could play this out. It will be a delight to see what actor Chris Hemsworth and Michael Fassbender can do together.
