A plot leak points at the possibility of Angelina Jolie’s Thena in Marvel Studios’ The Eternals could be Thanos’ Mother in the MCU
It is no secret that Marvel Studios is keeping its big release The Eternals tightly under wraps. The multi starer movie will introduce the fans to a new set of superheroes for upcoming MCU phases.
Since long fans have been speculating about the plot of the movie, some leaks also fuelled the fire around the movie. Set for a 2021 release the movie stars, Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani among others.
Marvel Studios’ The Eternals’ history spans over a few millennia and introduces a new breed of superheroes to the MCU. They’ll have a face-off against their comic book nemesis the Deviants.
The Eternals wasn’t a big comic book label back in the day. The secrecy around the movie makes it more intriguing and fans already had longest dry spell this year due to the coronavirus. As per the current MCU timeline, it is interesting to note that Eternals were always aware of the Avengers but the latter wasn’t.
The Eternals’ Plot Leak
Last year, an Eternals’ plot leak surface on 4chan and Reddit that provided information in great detail about the movie. Now some of these plot leaks seem credible as per the information we have at hand.
The leak predicted a relationship between Gemma Chan’s Cerci and Kit Harrington’s Daniel Whitman. Leaked pictures from the set saw them kissing which proves the claim to be somewhat true.
Another prediction from the leak that came true is Kumail Nanjiani’s character Kingo being a world famous Bollywood actor. The actor spoke about the film and rehearsing Bollywood dance numbers, during a podcast.
And there’s another plot leak that’s gaining some traction.
Thena’s Plot Leak
The same leak stated an important detail about the Angelina Jolie’s character Thena. It sates,
Thena (Angelina Jolie) is deadliest of the Eternals and has superhuman reflexes. She is brash, rebellious and prone to breaking the rules, and carries a great secret.
Pondering about the ‘great secret’ she carries some fans have assumed that Thena can be Thanos’ mother in the MCU.

The Infinity Saga heavily covers Thanos’ intent to snap out half the population but never mentions why. Fans also feel that Mad Titan’s back story wasn’t covered at all while, makers have mentioned in the past that there’s more to Thanos’ story. A young Thanos can be expected to pop up in the MCU with the Eternals’ movie according to writers of the Infinity War and Endgame.
Now a recent report confirms that a Babylonian wedding scene is in the movie. A new cast listing shows London based actor Noaman Saeed, listed as a guest to the Babylonian wedding. The film is operating under the working title ‘Sack Lunch’ to maintain the secrecy around the production.
Given the leak mention Thena’s secret and rebellious nature, it is quite possible she has ties to Thanos. The plot gives us ample chance to fix many plot holes in the Infinity Saga.
Questions like why The Eternals’ didn’t show up in the final battle of the Endgame. Why Avengers never knew about The Eternals or simply Thanos’ intention to snap half of the population?

Moreover, we know Thanos’ father’s name courtesy, Red Skull on Vormir. He is the son of A’lars, half Titanian with an Eternal heritage. In the comic universe, Thena is his cousin. But given Marvel’s penchant to twist the storylines it won’t come as a surprise that we might see the leak unfold in front of our eyes.
As much as there is secrecy around The Eternals, their life post blip has to be a part of the storyline.
