Makers of Agents of SHIELD have confirmed an MCU crossover. Here all the possible cameos we can witness in the upcoming season
As Marvel’s Agents of Shield gears up for its final lap, the buzz surrounding the show just keeps getting louder and louder. A large part of this spike in attention towards the show can be attributed to the successful climax of the MCU Phase 3.
Although the writers have always maintained a slim connection between the movies and TV shows. However, the latter has mostly been a neglected case on the studio’s part.
AoS’ MCU References
Agent Coulson has contributed hugely to shows popularity owing to his frequent appearances in the MCU movies. Being the flag-bearer from the movies, Coulson naturally led the SHIELD team.
Well, at least until he died and then came back as Sarge; a version of himself from another universe, who was chasing a demon but was killed again and finally brought back at the end of season 6 as an LMD.
It’s easy to see how important Coulson’s popularity has helped the show and for that reason, they’ve managed to keep him alive throughout the series without falling into plot holes. He is once again pivotal to the final season’s events. But he isn’t the biggest name they intend to pull in for this last season.
Across 6 seasons AoS has referred many MCU events like Winter Soldier. Certain characters like Maria Hill, Peggy Carter, Lady Sif and more have been featured on the show. While Kree were first introduced in the series that crossover to MCU.
The Return of Nick Fury
During an interview, actor Elizabeth Henstridge (Daizy) hinted some big names might pop-up at different times across the season. One heavy name high on the list of possible appearances is Nick Fury.
Being the show’s Godfather, Fury has already made a cameo and often finds a mention during previous seasons. Now clips from the new season have shown Daizy Johnson referencing to Fury’s box, fuelling rumours of him showing up in the season finale.
Steve Roger’s Time Travel Cameo
Captain America aka Steve Rogers is also on the list of possible star appearances in the season finale. Considering his last task as Captain America was returning the stones to their original timelines and SHIELD’S present mission involves going to the past to stop the Chronicroms. It isn’t out of place to suggest that their paths might cross along the way. Bonus it won’t be old man Cap but a version of him from Endgame!
Doctor Strange’s Alternate Realities
Doctor Strange could also make an appearance. The Stone Keeper has had to use the stone in the past to peep to defeat his adversaries. He used it against the demon, Dormammu and again in Endgame when Avengers needed the motivation to defeat Thanos. Being able to travel easily during timelines, the Stone Keeper might just be back into action.
Since the dawn of Disney+ many Marvel Television characters have bitten the dust but Agent’s of SHIELD is back one last time for its finale. The makers of the show have confirmed that there would be an Agents of SHIELD and MCU’s Endgame crossover. Fans around the world are very excited to see how it turns out.
Furthermore, riding on the back of Endgame’s success, Marvel has the opportunity to stage one of the best end to any series they have done up to this point.
