Kiara Advani was born to Jagdeep Advani, as Alia Advani. Advani changed her first name to Kiara prior to the release of her first film. She is the grand-niece of actor Saeed Jaffrey and the great-granddaughter of actor Ashok Kumar. Apparently, Kiara is the niece of Salman’s first girlfriend, Shaheen Jaffrey.
One lady and different characters
Her first performance in a comedy-drama Fugly bagged her lot of positive comments. It was a dream come true for her to share the screen with Akshay Kumar. This movie marked her presence in the industry.
As Sakshi Singh Dhoni
Kiara Advani played the real-life character of Sakshi Rawat (a hotel manager who and Dhoni fall in love and later got married). Her performance and chemistry with Rajput was well appreciated by critics and the film was highly anticipated. With gross earnings of over ₹2.16 billion (US$31 million) in worldwide ticket sales, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story proved to be a major economic success and was one of the highest-grossing Indian films of that year.
Advani appeared in Machine (2017), an action romantic thriller. Advani’s performance was largely criticized.
Kiara was all over in headlines for her masturbation scene in Lust Stories. Lust Stories, directed by Karan Johar revolved around a young school teacher Megha whose husband, Paras is unable to sexually satisfy her. When she decides to turn to a sex toy for an orgasm, it leads to a hilarious climax.
“Lust Stories was a brave opportunity, and I am glad that people took it in the right spirit and sense. The best compliment that I got was from women themselves. Women supporting women is great. It was done aesthetically. It was an innocent girl’s character in a brave and bold subject” She said.
Debut in Telugu Movie as Vasumati, love interest of Babu’s character in Bharat Ane Nenu, a political thriller, was a huge success for the actress. Her chemistry with Mahesh was also well received by critics.
Her first song with Shahid Kapoor
Kiara can be seen essaying the role of a shy girl playing alongside Shahid Kapoor. Young lass has left us all gobsmacked with the de-glam look that she is sporting for her film Kabir Singh.
From a shy girl to a timid wife gone bold and sharp, and on to an innocent lady taking up on the 21st Century, Kiara Advani has transitioned and grown astonishingly!
Bollywood has taken Kiara Advani under its wings guaranteeing a career many would crave for. Kiara is all set to showcase her acting chops in her upcoming movies. She has been cast by Director Raj Mehta for Good News. Not only this she is been already cast in Laxmmi Bomb, Indoo Ki Jawani, and Shershaah.
“I am super excited to play so many different roles and to work with all these actors — whether it is Shahid Kapoor or Diljit Dosanjh, who is very different not only as individuals but also as actors. Their approach is very different towards their craft. That is why it is so interesting to work with such talents,” Kiara said.
Well, the list does not end here, Advani recently posted a photo revealing her upcoming project with Karan Johar on Netflix. Have a look at this photo.
