Sara Ali Khan was critically acclaimed in Kedarnath and has also tasted commercial success in Simmba. But Box office numbers would fall way short in defining the sensational phenomenon that is Sara Ali Khan – the new Bollywood sensation who can wound millions of hearts with just her smile.

Inherited as they say

At the very outset, the distinction lies in her superior genes. She inherits Sharmila Tagore’s charm, Tiger Pataudi’s discipline, Amrita Singh’s vivaciousness, and Saif Ali Khan’s wit and candor.

Sara Ali Khan is one among the millennial star kids who are bracing for potential tinsel town careers, but the similarities end there.

She exudes the confidence and feistiness of today’s generation but also retains vintage values of simplicity, humility, and respect. Sara Ali Khan weight loss story inspires us a lot.

“I went to Columbia for four years and at the end of the second year, I decided that I really want to act, like I said I have always known, but that realization coincided with the weigh scale saying that I’m 96 kilos.

So, it was a bit difficult. Then it was the senior year of college in America itself that I lost the weight.”

During her appearances in media, Sara Ali Khan is already showing a high level of maturity and grace that’s rare for her age.

In the course of her debut appearance with her father on Koffee with Karan for instance, Sara Ali Khan radiated an endearing positivity on her parents’ separation, saying that she was happy to have “two comfortable homes to go to rather than one uncomfortable one”.

On her own

While she could easily benefit from her lineage, Sara Ali Khan went on to secure her film debut on her own merit.

Simmba director Rohit Shetty revealed on TV how Sara Ali Khan came to ask him for a role, without any of the airs and paraphernalia of being a star kid.

At the same time, Sara Ali Khan has an earthy charm that can easily relate to the last man in the audience. She laughs out loud and expresses herself freely with uninhibited honesty.

She admits to the privileges of nepotism, and openly talked about her tryst with Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) on Koffee with Karan, right before her debut film.

Saif Ali Khan calls his daughter one of the “most hard-working, humble and focused people” he knows. The very fact that she signed on her second film even before her first film was released shows that she is forever ready to push the envelope.

Directors’ favourite

To top it all, Sara’s commitment to discipline and hard work makes her a Director’s favourite. Her determination is evident from the manner in which she lost all that weight that she gained from PCOD. She always wanted to be in movies, and has also worked in theatre in New York. Rohit Shetty has proclaimed that Sara Ali Khan has “what it takes to be a superstar”. But to the minds of her growing legions of fans, she is already one.

Bellwether Indeed

Sara Ali Khan has the innate ability to charm audiences off camera. Her social media fan following has been growing leaps and bounds – fans are bowled over by her breathtaking beauty, intelligence, and wit. A case in point is her humorous Instagram post on the after-effects of working with Ranveer Singh, to which the latter gave an equally hilarious response. That kind of banter could make anyone’s day.
